Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinct mix of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. From Broadway to European music festivals and clubs Avery Sunshine has been a hit across the globe. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Her birthplace is Chester Pennsylvania, where she started her musical career by playing the piano and singing at church. She attended Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training on Atlanta's R&B scene. She took on the role of primary piano player for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her about being the choir leader of this theatrical production. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to perform as part of Obama's inaugural ceremony in 2009.
