Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento

Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress born in Berkeley on the 1st of October 1996. She is an American actress that has appeared in Choices (2010) and The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2004).

Asia Argento began her career as an actor as an actress in Rome. Her family also comprises of filmmakers. She first made her debut in film at age nine in Sergio Citti's Sogni bisogni. At the age of eighteen she was the lead of Cristina Comencini's Zoo and part of Michele Soavi's The Church. In the year following, she played Nanni Moritti's baby as a child in Red Wood Pigeon. Her career took off when she landed the role of Nanni's daughter on the set of Close Friends. The film was well-received during the Cannes International Film Festival. Daria Nicholodi was one of Argento's favorites actresses and played the role of an orexic kid looking for their murderer. Asia was a part of Dario's Phantom of the Opera, the third movie she made alongside her dad. Other films were Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome. The role she played as Arianna in Carlo Verdone's Perdiamoci di vista, a physically-disabled girl, was a difficult and intricate role, which brought she the David di Donatello award as the most outstanding actress. Her film debut was a role on the screen in Queen Margot, directed by Patrice Cereau. In 1995, she starred alongside Michel Piccoli in Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio which again won her a David di Donatello and an award of Grolla oro. Asia took up the profession of directing in 1994, and made two shorts, an episode of De Generazione. The following year, in 1996, Asia made a document about her father. In 1998, Asia created a feature-length film about Abel Ferrara (AbelAsia), which received an award from the Rome Film Festival. Asia was the director of her first film in Scarlet Diva (1999), where she was both the actress leading the film as well as the writer of the screenplay. The film was released in May 2000 across Italy as well as the rest of the world. It was honored with an award in Brooklyn at the Williamsburg International Film Festival.
