Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals straightforward, simple techniques to master to cook at home in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She also has learned about Italy's food traditions and culture, along with the natural landscape. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food at an early age. She pursued her passion for food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful experience for me. It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. The chef gained an appreciation of Italian food and culture while in Italy that has informed her cooking style. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of kids who struggle. She also is a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate, where she promotes awareness of juvenile diabetics. She is a frequent guest speaker at conferences and travels throughout the United States to mentor others in her role. Anne in all her experience in the kitchen, has declared that it's a pleasure to be in a position to share this passion for life with others.
